Hi city hue,
I remembered seeing the Sherman on YouTube...so I googled 'vantex rc tank and this was top of the list.....No price for the electric and gas powered versions...so I would guess that as the old saying goes...'If you have to ask the price then you cannot afford it !' .... :haha:
http://www.fuyuanrc.com/en/dept.asp?id=106&mfr=135
YouTube....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7GNp2G1rYI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTI-F50UyGs
.
One of the YouTube links mentioned Bigtanks.de..........They are HERE..
http://www.bigtanks.de/site/bigtanks-n.htm
Selling 1/6th scale tanks made of Glassfibre and metal ..in RUSSIA of all places....the Tiger 1 is 3350.00 Euros....but I cannot figure out if that is ready to run or not....but even if you trust the company to stay in business ..its way too expensive for me.... :D
.
Trying to find the price of the 'vantex' has lead me to find the company 'CHUNWAI' RC Model tanks..I have never heard of them...BUT ALL the range are metal ranging from 1/16th at a mere $1300,00 to a 1/6th MARDER !! at a wallet busting price of $5800.00...with no smoke and no sound..oh and plus 5% PayPal surcharge.... :O ....here is the link...
http://www.chunwai-model.com/Article/Sh ... ticleID=17
......I will try and find the price...of the Vantex....they are made by the parent company of FUYUAN RC who seem to be big in the RC World with gas powered cars, trucks and boats........so I guess that they should be a pretty solid company

Hi city hue,
I am not sure if the 'Tank Zone' is telling the truth about being the UK importer for the 'Vantex' range of tanks....???...This site seems to indicate that the ONLYsupplier is..... http://www.bigtanks.de/ and THAT was who this guy in THIS LINK....
http://www.onesixthwarriors.com/forum/s ... oject.html
.
....................................................................................bought his from......It looks like it needs rather a lot of work from straight out of the box....including the gearboxes remounted to get rid of this incredible arrangement of the mounting bolts.....
DSC00208.JPG
.
A bit amateurish, not to have at least put them with the heads on the outside !!!..instead of with the threads pointing out of the bottom.....AND...I think that you may have a bit of 'Fabrication' to do ...a rather large piece of the side of the hull is cut out so that the factory can mount the gearbox ...but the piece is NOT in the model so you have to make it... :O
DSC00219.JPG
..so that it looks like this...
DSC00220.JPG
Sorry about this, I am not meaning to be negative.....I am only adding bits here from the One Sixth warriors site..... just so that you are aware of what you are buying..........the guy goes on to say this ' the tank not only is missing the sponsons but the lower hull wall is too low'..........So that means that you also have to make these parts...
DSC00223.JPG
DSC00224.JPG
....Then you have to cover them in resin and glassfibre them to the hull...................So it looks like there is a lot of work needed to make it an accurate kit.....I will just let you read the rest of the link..but there is more to do if you fancy a bit more modelling ....'Fore warned is fore armed' ..as the saying goes....

These tanks are available from the manufacturer directly:

http://www.fuyuanrc.com/en/dept.asp?id=106&mfr=135

They will send you all info just ask by email.

We will stop offering them due to the sub-standard quality. The German re-seller is very familiar with sub-standard quality since he also offers the tanks made in Russia, aka Alex Shlakther tanks.
As a customer you need to understand that it takes lot of work to bring it up to standard as well as model building skills, time and money. We do understand that many customers are just happy with that or pretend to be. There are lots of pictures meanwhile on the internet to show the flaws and work on these tanks.

If you are not a rivet counter and just need a big toy to play around with until a vital part breaks, that's the way to go.
If you like to have a scale replica that also runs r/c you will be unhappy.

Just my thoughts ...don't kill me.
Thanks

Hi Big Tanks of America,
I think that your information is a good concise reply and I am not going to kill you :haha: .......The tank looks very good on YouTube......but ..and its a very large BUT !!! ...it is not so good in reality. If I had bought that it would have been returned by now !!......for a variety of reasons with the quality, accuracy and certainly because of the lack of the 'Sponsen Covers' that will allow the tank to be filled up with dirt and debris as you drive it around !!!

I believe the russian made tanks sold by Big Tanks.de are same as sold by Mark 1 tanks in UK. I would not be happy with them as high cost low detail plastic models. I think they come ready to run but I prefer to build.

JohnF,

you are correct, Mark-1 and Bigtanks Germany are selling the Russian tanks.Mark-1 puts in his own electronics to customer specs. The main chassis with its "quality" still comes from Russia. Both are resellers and are not manufacturers. Same with Rolling Thunder in the USA.
Thanks

Good Morning.
Mark-1 Tanks there in the UK was my first exposure to 1\6 scale Tanking. Am I to understand that they sell an inferior product? They seem pretty costly at some 7000 + US Dollars. I have heard of the all metal ones available here in the US but at 22000+ US dollars for a ready-to-run vehicle, it is _way_ out of my price range. I had hopes to one day afford one of the Mark-1 Tiger 1 tanks but now I am not so sure. Any thoughts yay or nay?
regards,
Painless

Hi,

it is correct that our tanks are on the higher end, but so is our quality !
For 22Grand you get a 1/4 Tiger, the 1/6 tanks cost way less, so do the 1/10 tanks.
If you want to go tanking with peace of mind, we are the first address.

Email us for a flyer showing pictures of those tanks made in Russia from customers who bought them. Judge for yourself.
Thanks
