TankMan,Here is a link with some discussion about hull weight, and the motors used to pull it,my tank is just built in these pictures, yet their is a great shot of the Graupner motors installed and how I wire my tanks using a twist lock coupling.

We don't plan to stock gears at present but will look at this again if there is sufficient demand. 2.3mm motor shaft diameter is a common size and the same size as on Asiatam gearbox motors. I don't know of any manufacturer who produces a 10 tooth / 48 pitch gear that would fit, though. Prices are for one motor.

I hope this answers all the questions.

Gary, the 400 will fit in your Mato gearbox no problem. The 480 have a larger shaft so suppose you could drill out the pinion to fit or totally replace the pinion gear.

I have the 400 6v in mine and agree totally with Saxondog the motors are great. I just find them to be a bit down on torque when turning on my lawn (slope) but when both motors are running you've all the power you need. Flat and hard surfaces then the motors are great running, very slow control is difficult but that could be down to me using 6v versions or the RX18 ESC control.

Heres a video of my tank with the motors in http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... SpdDlzAYGY as you can good speed (tank lifts slightly when setting off at full power) and turning. But this is my front lawn so quite flat.
