Cheaper than brass sheet!

Post by MarkofZollo »

Been meaning to post this for a few weeks, had a genius moment when wanting to make some custom bits of small metal. Was thinking of getting some brass sheet but for £5 for about 30x10cm I sought an alternative. Had a Mingles container we had been trying to empty since Christmas :sick: so I cut it up with ordinary scissors;

it doesnt look too flat in that pic due to the curve of the container but I can assure you this stuff is as good as brass sheet. I have been using ever since and its very handy, at some point I may even replace all of my Tigers side skirts and mud flaps with it. Anyway hope this of some help to someone as Easter is soon abd there are likely to be a few of these containers around :D , cheers, Dave
There is always a fifth Sherman

another good one is the metal tubes tomato puree and mustard etc,and old style toothpaste(which is thicker) it easy to bend and fold and use a ball point pen or knitting needle to score reinforcing ribs on underside,I made a lovely pair of front mudguards for a 1/25 Panther many years ago,not as strong as your sweet tin,but good for certain jobs
