I have just purchased a Tamiya full option 1/16th scale early production Tiger1 kit, and would like to do a scale project of the Das Reich Tiger 823. I have photographs of this tank with Himmler standing in the commanders hatch when he visited the unit in May 1943.
Unfortunately the photographs are black and white, and wonder if anybody out there could tell me what the colour of the tank was at this time in it's history. I intend to use Tamiya acrylic paints on this project, and would appreciate any advice or tips.

Hi,
Thanks for that, looks like sand on gray, but hard to tell.. Do you know of anybody who has already airbrushed this tank?

Try this link for many more colour scheme options some of which will be within the time frame to have been the correct colour scheme. Click on a thumb nail to get the image full size.
