Heng Long King Tiger for sale

Post by Saxondog »

Hi All,I might be late on this offer, but Awesome hobbies has KING TIGERS listed as in stock for 229.00 US . This is the first time I have found a vendor listing these as in stock and with the price.

229.00us is higher than I thought these would cost, and being they are from Heng Long what is the added cost for?

Same drive,RX18,Smoker and Sound so the extra cost has to be the mold and the size?

Anyway they are now the only King Tiger on the market as Matorro King Tiger seem to have become unavailable? I certainly like the Porsche Turret but the price with shipping is equal in cost of any two Heng Long tanks.

So what do you guy's think? Is this an awesome new Tank or a Heng Long attempt to rip us a new one? Porsche King Tiger is something
I did not think we would ever see again so perhaps the cost is fair based on the market demand for this tank.

Id wait it out. If they are the only ones that have it, they can name their price. Everyone wants one, so its that supply and demand thing again. We ll find out just how bad you want it though lol

edit: just checked out the site, they want alot for all their tanks. $180 for a Panzer III?

These are Australian Dollars.

1:56 = 1£,so about £147,the problem will be getting it into the country, and postage.

That's the silly money.

Hi Guys, :~
When buying from outside the EU...WATCH OUT....anything over £40, even for a 'Gift' WILL attract VAT AND CUSTOMS charges...Blake ( Saxondog ) sent me an old version Tamiya King Tiger from the USA to France ( Which I realise is not GB but the costs are very similar ) It cost me 153 Euros in tax and costs AND then a further 50 Euros agents fees !!!!! SO the EXTRA costs not including the item and postage were 203 Euros >:< >:<
Suddenly its NOT a very good idea to buy anything expensive from outside the EU !!!!!

This situation was just plain wrong, but they did not care. Basing the taxes on the insured value of the package. So beware as Alb and I found out you cannot fight these people, they tax and will not accept and complaints they just want your money.

That is generally how it works. Most countries use the insured value as a indicator of tax value. If you put the item as a gift with a value of £40 but took out insurance up to £200 they are pretty sure to believe you are trying to commit fraud.

Also most countries have a set value for how much a gift can be. The UK is set pretty low. Was the package picked up by a courier for delivery in France or was it a third party that cleared it for you?

France is probably the most expensive country for shipping, they are far higher than the UK and Germany.
It is never just "one" tank!

The main thing we learned was if your honest you get screwed,It was certainly a gift from one friend to another, and even a sworn statement would not change the thieves need to extort money. We learned, and yes this was a result of insuring the package in case lost to replacement value of a Tamiya King Tiger.

So call me stupid, for I truly was thinking these people would be reasonable. God help us if the Socialist Democrats in America get there way and start this VAT MADNESS.

I HAVE A GOOD IDEA,LET'S TAX THE BREATH OF POLITICIANS! Every time they speak, they pay a noise pollution tax. We can call it a CARBON Based emissions Tax, what a great idea.

Thats why I stopped buying "cheaper" tanks from the states or china years ago, If you don't want to take the risk of it being lost or stolen, and insure for correct value, it ends up costing the same or more than buying in the UK
Hey man....I just ride 'em, I dunno what makes 'em work.
