Re: New Boy
Hi Andy
No need to take the wheels off if you only want to seperate the top from the bottom just take the tracks off
then you can get at all the screws, be careful though when replacing them, metal into plastic if their not aligned
tidy could rip out the threads. " enjoy your tanking
or your cooking on Christmas Day
".

Re: New Boy
If you are upgrading hava a look at the asiatam hull. Includes all suspension and gives easy access to gearbox electronics battery. Great upgrade.
Re: New Boy
Welcome Andy, I am waiting for Christmas as well. But prior to spending more money I can say this the Asiatam hull saves money, but know this as well stock wheels are out,the provided axles will not work with the stock plastic wheels. So I suggest looking at the Asiatam lower hull builds on this forum, just use the search option, type in Asiatam and go from their. cheers Saxondog

Re: New Boy
Hi and welcome Andy, you are starting the hobby exactly as I did a year ago, with a Christmas Tiger
I have metal tracks, g/boxes, sprockets and idlers and noticed the stock plastic suspension arms do buckle a bit under all the weight. So if you are not planning on going the asiatam route with the accurate torsion bar suspension, talk to forgebear about getting the metal susp. arms 'cos he has the right ones and they make it look much better (all wheels aligned). Anyway good luck mate
(wish you had said you lived down Devon ways, seems like im the only rc tanker down 'ere

Re: New Boy
I agree with saxondog. You get a lot with the asiatam hull and it makes things a lot easier. Did you get the 3:1 gearbox with your tiger. Early metal wheels are hadr to get. I was talking with Dominique at RCTANK.DE. He said they can make about 50 sets before the casting mould breaks down then they make a new mold. I was waiting months for some to become available. Any way you get the idea. You can spend a fortune on these things.

Re: New Boy

I am coming to the conclusion that you are right, a fortune can be chucked at these tanks, still good fun though.

I did get the 3.1 gearbox, though i think it is only white metal and I think I will go the way of the asiatam hull, wallet allowing

Re: New Boy
Have a look at rctank.de also. 70 euro.
sterling strong at present.
compare postage though.
Or better still from asiatam direct. 58 euro
http://www.asiatam.de/product_info.php? ... heit-.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
At 58 euro I will buy one for future project.
ASIATAM SITE IS IN GERMAN BUT I HAVE BOUGHT LOTS FROM THEM. NOT AS GOOD AT REPLYING TO EMAILS AS RCTANK.DE
Not a lot of modelling skill required. Need help with anything let me know.
