Germany invades Romania

October 7. 1940 German troops invade Romania without the now standard excuse of protecting German citizen's.But instead this invasion had been but the last action of many. The German non-aggression pact with Russia had provisions allowing Russia several key territories in Romania. This is also another example that the Axis powers were not just the "Big Three" but included many nations. further reading available at the links below. Saxondog

This is a very interesting development as Romania was to be the largest armed forces to become an AXIS ALLIE. Committing more men and equipment of direct support to German war goals than all the other Axis powers combined. With over 380,000 men listed as K..I.A.
