Hi Sax, Sorry for jumping in here but I think this Jagdpanzer conversion comes with zimmerit moulded on . I use milliput to make my zimmerit . I just make sure the tanks clean then apply a thin layer of milliput then make the required zimmerit style required . This is a very good jagdpanzer , and the mor I see of them I want to do one .

Exactly as Littletankman states. And unfortunately, the zimm is too perfect on the superstructure. I tried to break it up a little and I think it will be better when I get the hot iron too it.

Other zimm is milliput, just wet it down to make it easier to spread and mark.

more details: Some hand made tools out of brass, wire cutter from wecohe (nice kit! was missing one rivet..), some tools from heng long P-IV (donor for Stug IV project). I had to fill in the missing metal on the big wrenches...odd casting from HL...

straps and buckles made out of copper wire and left over metal from schumo KT track guards

everybody sick, so I had some time to work on tank:

I used a fine #2 graphite mechanical pencil to add shine to the scratches/incidental marks. Took about one hour to do whole tank.

TIp O the Day: How to wash your tank cheaply and make it look good. I took some charcoal and white/tan ash out of the fireplace and ground them up. Also gound some burnt sienna pastel. all ground to fine powder. Then put into three bags for later.

Get some 1oz plastic cups. get some iso alcohol (pharmacy).

Put about tsp powder into cup and add 1/2 oz alcohol. mix more or less to taste. then apply roughly to whole tank or as you see fit. I start with charcoal (black) then burnt sienna (brown) then the ash for final dusting. Between each coat, let dry and brush excess off.

You have to be careful on last two coats so as not to wash away the prior coat. I was going to fix each coat to the tank with testors dullcoat, but then I would be unable to adjust, wipe, or alter the look. So i coated the tank w/2 layers of dullcoat AFTER all dirt and dust added.

I really like the look of the almost finished JP IV. looks like a recently built tank that just came out of a hard battle with dust and dirt and ash and embers and mud. I might do the King Tiger in this finish...
still a few more details like muzzle brake finishing and jack block strap..

Hi Xrad , Excelent mate a lovely paint job the wear and tear on this are brilliant mate. Yours and Marts builds are the reason for me starting a scratch built Jagdpanzer . Your builds have inspired me and the finnish you have on this one is very impressive . Im not planning on zimeriting my one as Im making a late L/70 version with the verticul exhausts and three return rollers . Ive still got the hetzer to spray and sort the gears out . But thats slowed down as our compressors playing up .

Thanks Andy, your comments very much appreciated. I am still waiting some floquil finishing black and Hudson and Allen mud for final touches.
I still haev to do the electronics.
