Hello all.
I thought I'd better introduce myself as I've been a member since March, oops.
My names Andy and I'm based in St Johns Worcester.
I'm in the process of modifying a Heng Long Tiger 1 non smoke and sound, to represent Tiger 312 of 3. Kompanie/s PzAbt. 505 as seen top photo page 45 of Osprey's Tiger 1 Heavy Tank (not the horses before anyone asks).
My intention is to end up with a functioning and accurate model, so far I have the metal tracks, wheels, sprockets, idlers and Asiatam hull, plus a few other bits and pieces, I've decided this week that I now need replacement gears and possibly motors, the standard metal gearbox seems a bit overwhelmed by the model which is now nearly double it's orginal weight!! A long way to go yet, but getting there.
When I feel it's ready I'll see if I can download a couple of in progress photos, in the meantime if anyone can shed some light on the history of the original I'd be very grateful.
Andy.

Re: HI.
Welcome to the forum ANDY. My Tiger S13 is a little over 20lbs. Your should look into a good set of 3:1 ratio steel gearboxes. I have an older set by Asiatam with Gruapner speed 400 motors. They have all the power and torque I need and have never been a problem. Here RE A FEW LINKS, I also would advise checking out the reference section of the forum. cheers Blake
