Attachment Size Limit

Have any comments or suggestions as to the running or advancing of the RC Tank Warfare website? If so, this is the place to be.

What should the new attachment size limit be?

It's fine as it is!

Attachment Size Limit

Post by Scooby »

Hey guys, I just looked at the amount of space we have on the server and there is quite a lot of it left! I'm thinking of raising the attachment upload size limit, what do you guys think? I'm going to throw up a poll so you guys can vote on what size you would like to see it raised too, at the moment its set to 150KB which is kind of small I think. I haven't spoke to Matt about this but I'm sure he'll agree, even if we run out of space we can always add 25GB for a really good price, which is awesome!

The sizes in the poll are as realistic as we can get otherwise we will fly through the space in no time!

i thought we capped it to 150kb as we ran out of space before, thats why alot of us started using photobucket, and mart and i went through resizing alot of the images

Scooby: what are the chances of getting an 'auto-photo-resizer' program added??

Meaning that I get tired of having to resize all my pics so that I can upload them. Insert a auto program between the upload and the website thread which will auto resize pics so that all of our pics are the same dimensions and similar resolution.

Obviously, you can;t add resolution..but basically, all the pics could be close to teh same size making viewing easier for those with smaller screens.

Use my pic size as an example from my latest Nashorn posts...

Err, I don't think that's really possible, however there is an option so that if the pictures are really big they are made into thumbnails so other people can click the thumbnail and see the larger picture.

This was discussed some time back and XRAD posted this site/software which seems to work well. Saxondog

That is true Sax! good memory..... unfortunately, the program is not 'automatic' meaning the poster has to do it...

Scooby, Think along the lines of ebay. Post any size pic and it automatically resizes...your web host/site designer should be able to provide this program at little to no cost...

Cheers

we don't have a web designer, this software is phpbb3 and that's all we get, we have to install and set it up ourselves. Scooby is technically our host, too :) Its impossible for us to do a built in pic re sizer unfortunately, even though it would be good i agree.

cheers,

Matt
