All up and running now. A dodgy crystal caused me problems, and the radio glitches but thats possibly because I broke my new ariel off!

There is a trick to the quiet gears.
Firstly, run them in using valve grinding paste, and then pack the WSN enclosed gearbox casing with high melting point grease, it runs as smooth as silk.

I used a toothbrush and a spray on degreaser, WD40 type of stuff £1 from Asda. Just don't do it on the living room carpet though!!
