Pz III rebuild...
I purchased this Tauchpanzer used with no electronics. I am installing rx 18 with all HL electronics and will make her tamiya compatible with a dbc from rctankwars as well. So far it has the asiatam lower hull with drive bearings installed. I scratch built the front bolt-on armor yesterday and notched it for the tow hooks. Reapainted it in german grey and then blackwashed it for a darker finish. I began some weathering on her as well, but more to follow.

Not bad at all. Please don't take this the wrong way....You have done a great build job, especially the brass work!
Perhaps you may consider a tip for track weathering: Get a large zip lock bag, and some thinner and a few capfulls of testors rust. Throw the tracks in and shake for a few minutes. Take out and lay out to dry for a few minutes, then wipe down gently with paper. Let them dry overnight. Go back later and add a few tiny tiny dabs of aluminum to used surfaces. Really makes a difference on plastic tracks.
Consider checking out some of the other builds with weathering.Good Painting can make a poor build shine, but a bad paint job can make a great buikld flounder...

Xrad, I appreciate the tip, but these tracks are metal and came painted when I bought them. I just wanted to add some weathering affects to them before attaching and doing the final weathering with mud and dust effects. Let me know what you think of it when I post the finished pics. I am trying to learn how to get the best realism possible, so lpease respond honestly. Thank you.

Thanks for not getting upset! this is a constructive group effort forum. I need tips as much as the next guy, too.
You can use the same baggie process with metal tracks, but instead of painting silver wear-marks, use sandpaper or run them on concrete in superspin mode for a few minutes. This way the rust is 'in the recesses.' Looking better with the additional work.
Maybe a touch of flat black for spare tires and a few sprays of dullcoat.....

Thanks alot man. I appreciate any opinions. This is how we learn. I do plan a bit of flat black and some window frosting to clear it all.

Well after some debate I decided to try painting the numbers on as they might have done in the field. I know they'r enot perfect, but good enough for me. I followed xrads advice and went over the spare tires with some matt black and cleared it all again with dullcoat.
