Re: Tank Zappa
Through his sonic wisdom, that man taught me all the right things about life & music at the right time... and I remember three days after he died back in 1993, we saw Steve Vai live here in Orlando & he did a moving tribute to the man who influenced him to play "stunt guitar"

Re: Tank Zappa
I just figured it out... all these Tiger crewmen in my "Schwere Panzer Regiment Franke" on headsets are obviously jamming out to Herr Zappa!

Re: Tank Zappa
Can anyone tell me the story behind this photo? To me, the resolution is too crisp & modern to be from WWII, and although most of the tank looks like a real Tiger, the front hull extensions are waaaay too thick, and they've added a step & handgrip on the front to emulate Tiger 131

What is more, Herr Kommandant looks a bit middle-aged and seems to fill the hatch opening.

Re: Tank Zappa
Thank you for introducing me to Frank Zappa. Spent yesterday listening to his music.

Re: Tank Zappa
Grew up listening to his more mainstream stuff like Dancin' Fool, Don't Eat the Yellow Snow, Joe's Garage, Valley Girl.
Read a mass of his quotes this morning and his take on society--one in particular--is as alarmingly accurate today as it was in the past.
Mike.

Re: Tank Zappa
FZ's take on things was not only unique & timely, but he walked the walk; he was the most effective speaker against the PMRC in Congress back when they were trying to censor music... I wish we could all hear what he'd have to say today!
