Taigen Tanks What's going on with them?

Post by MrChef »

So what's going on with Taigen RC tanks? It's quite a lull. Is the company failing or reorganizing or other?

Thought I'd bring the question out in the open for hopefully some more insight. Maybe Dave or Julie can share something?

I agreed with the same question Panzermechaniker posted in another thread and figured maybe some more exposure might generate some information sharing.
Panzermechaniker wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 8:48 pm Would love to know what is going on with Taigen/Torro. You used to be able to get the whole lower with it's arms and torsion bars with gearboxes, metal sprockets/idlers, tracks and roadwheels etc all in one. But they seem to have dried up along with the supply of most of the Taigen/Torro new stock. Even the German dealers have been sold out on quite a few of the models. Have they stopped making them? It would be a shame if they have
It's a good question. Taigen Tanks U.S. has let their stock of parts progressively dwindle down to nothing. I often look at their site and pick up parts that are left just to stock up since they also don't update their pricing often which makes what little parts they do still have left less to much less than Motion RC for the rebranded Torro parts or paying the unfortunate tariffs for stuff that Is in stock in Europe. I've been watching the US Taigen Tanks over the past 18 months. I know their parent company IMEX has their hands in Alot of other toys. During the holidays they started heavily promoting buggies and also have been pushing Heng Long as well as Tongde that they carry now. Albeit their pricing is not competitive with Motion or Toucan.

IMEX did get some stock back in for the holidays for RTR tanks but their better sellers only. And Zero parts were restocked. They had also made a post on FB that they were restocking their parts back in November which didn't happen.

Curious...

Taigen is still operating, but they don't have any new models. They're re-releasing older ones. Most recently, the Tiger I, IS-2 KV, etc. In Europe they sell e.g. on rctank.de.

I usually get Taigen stuff from IMEX here in FL, and was on a wait list for some parts that were supposed to arrive back in November, yet when I checked mid-month the parts had been restocked but I wasn't alerted. They don't have everything wired totally tight over there, but they try

Their tank division has suffered a lot since Erik left. I don't think anyone else over there really cares about it.

Their website redesign is a total pile of steaming :poop:

Their customer service is hit and miss. I did have telephone contact with them last month for parts that needed to be shipped differently. The lady I was dealing with was helpful but not overly friendly. The young man who answered the phone didn't share his name and was lackluster at best.
