HL V7.1 THIRD SERVO CONTROL

Post by HERMAN BIX »

Folks, can anyone clarify how the third serve on a 7.1 is controlled?
Marked as poison 5 in the servo ports & the instructions say it’s a 360 degree periscope function.
I cannot find the method of activation for it from the transmitter.
I want to use it as the slew control in the Ferdinand rather that a boogie knock up of a rotation or elevation unit!
Any advice greatly appreciated

The trim lever underneath the right hand stick. The standard HL 7.0 transmitter doesn't have the sliding trim. You have to have the 7.1 transmitter which has the working trim slider.

Glad I came across this thread, I was going to ask whether I needed to purchase a matching transmitter for the TK7.1 board, but you guys have already given the required information. Cheers 8)

You can use a 7.0 transmitter with a 7.1 board (and vice versa), but with no slider you lose the periscope function and a moveable commander's hatch(?) that the 7.1 board supports. Depends if that's a deal breaker or not.

Thanks for the info mate. I don't think I'd need either of those on my initial Tiger build. Would the 7.0 transmitter still activate the servo-controlled recoil unit (sorry if this is a dumb question, this stuff is all new to me)??

Yup, just make sure you make a jumper wire or use a jumper on connector location CN6 (IE: wire the two pins together). If you don't, the gun won't fire. That's normally where the airsoft limit switch is plugged in. If it doesn't see it "closed", the gun doesn't fire.
