Looking good... if only it could deep-ford its way to my western side of the pond

It's the same way with modern tanks like the Abrams. Sometimes you get a part in the field that is green when the tank is in desert camo or desert camo when the tank is forest camo. Eventually they paint it, but functionality is more important than aesthetics when you are in combat. Sometimes it's all about just having a spare part to install.VVhitesnake wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 11:48 pmAh yeah got ya, nice oneAd Lav wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 12:51 pmRed oxide primer - my idea that parts replaced in the field were not always painted!VVhitesnake wrote: ↑Mon Jan 12, 2026 12:09 am Hey!

Yeah that makes sense, and I heard this about the Abrams. Was it not that during the Iraq invasion all the Abrams tanks had actually green Forrest camo etc, and they were painted into desert camo in while in Iraq

I remember the build on this tank. It inspired me to rebuild my Tamiya Tiger. If I was in the UK I'd definitely be buying it.
