Hey Alan.
I think those EL CHEAPO HL commanders come closer to 1:18 than to 1:16 scale.
The Sockelshop in Germany sells heads in sets of 5 pcs, you can choose either Stahlhelm, Schiffgen, Fieldcaps or even officers hats.
These heads do fit perfectly onto the EL CHEAPO fellows.
For people who do not want to spend fortunes on good looking figures, these heads might be a good option.

Looks good Alan. The guy with the squeeze box, entertaining the crews, in the back ground looks a bit over scale.
I think by the time scale your models depicts, the inside of the hatches would be the same colour as the outside, as it was the first thing I noticed. They really stood out.

Thx Rob i will look into the heads
Meter Rat I am sure i read somewhere in the dark distant past ( maybe a month back lol) that the tanks inside were painted Ivory/off white colour so did hatches like that
Will rectify that tho

Hi, Stormbringer: painting figures is one of my favorite activities. I practiced (and still sometimes do so) on the Pänzermanner and GIs included with RTR AFVs.
Thank you, Rob. "The Sockelshop in Germany sells heads in sets of 5 pcs...." Interesting: I must have enough HengLong/Taigen/Torro Pänzermanner to populate a small town. Given tariffs, at least I can look a Sockelshop and drool.

I‘ve got a few pics for you from those EL CHEAPO‘s with Sockelshop heads.
The guy in the camo jacket is one of those HL guys which comes with a StuG III.

In the next pic, the guy from pic 1 changed his jacket and is in the rear hatch of my Jagdpanther now.

So no need to throw those poor guys into the garbage can!
With some new heads they could be used as tankdrivers, radio operators or even drivers in other vehicles.
I run two of them as driver and radio operator in my Taigen Panther-F.

Rob.. Now you are showing off.
Alan.. You are correct, the interior is painted ivory/cream, and initially the inside of the hatches were painted to match the interior. But a time progressed, it was realised that the pale colour was very obvious from above. Apparently British tanks were painted silver.
