Jofaur86 wrote::) Hello, this is assembly line work... quite a job! I have a few questions, if you don't mind. How do you dismantle the casemate? The internal screws? I understand, but what about the two ends under the upper chassis? They seem glued on? I didn't dare force it. Is it necessary to redo the sides when removing the wings? Why? Keep up the superb work... I can't wait to see the rest!
Thank you for the compliments I just opened the back doors and pushed the forward.... This one was indeed glued as well it made and awful noise when it broke free but I think thats the only way... dont get scared now!! If you takin the casemate off your in deep!!!ImageImageI'm just messin!

As for replacing these sides its not necessary on these torros. You can add a strip in the bottom to fill the gap. I like .080x.312 for that. Then your left with a substantial amount of body work too smooth the seam. Which I was trying to eliminate but there is still the seam where the casemate meets the side which I may have previously overlooked.... either way its some work

Idk.. I was originally thinking about cutting the entire side free and cutting more out from behind it. Them putting it back on. Either way gonna be a pain i think. But taking almost 1 mm off, I feel like gonna be hard to make it look good or hard to hide I dug a 1mm off right in the middle. Have to plane the entire thing. ImageImageImageImage

Im undecided as of yet on my approach. The JT has been stowed away on q shelf ive diverted my attention to finishing a late tiger at the moment.

Well well well

Where we left off I reattched the casemate and the hull was flush on the driver side and hungout by about 1 mm on the radio man's side.

After diverting my energy to almost finishing my Tiger 134 got him to about 96.28% complete and then pivoted again to 3d printing a ferdinand and also s.pz.jg research. Didnt finish any of them and I'm back on the Jagdtiger.....

So I was originally thinking I was gonna cut the entire side loose and reattach it. When I got looking at it, I didn't think that was that great anymore. That sucker was glued on there like someone didn't want it to come off.

So then I thought with the case mate off it wouldn't be that hard to sand the side down level with a real sander... but then I marked how much you have to come off. Note the black sharpie on the top of the side plate. That seemed like too much to me.

It looked like the side buldged out like a failed offensive right where the case mate was and tightened back up beyond it. So I got my most favorite and least favorite tools out. My razors saw and exacto knife. That thing is uncomfortably sharp. Anyhow, I end up very delicately cutting the side loose just where the casemate was.

After I got it loose, Mr exacto got to exacting. I shaved down the hull until I was satisfied with the amount removed. Test fitted the casemate, adjusted a few things a bing. bang. boom. The sides line up with the casmate pretty good.

The only thing I'm not crazy about when the screws draw tight it bows the sides in there. I backed them off a little at its not tooooo noticeable.

Im pretty satisfied with the results of this here more body work coming soon
