Family. Can’t live with them. Can’t kill them.
Even my family are trying to tip me over the edge. The rotters.

Hmm... a holiday Grim Reaper... Somewhat twisted, eh? Are you sworn off caffeine? All the Make Modeling Mediocre Again group here are now decaffeinated. Sigh!

Oh no! Coffee with no caffeine is like a bubble bath with no bubbles.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Thu Dec 25, 2025 4:07 pm Hmm... a holiday Grim Reaper... Somewhat twisted, eh? Are you sworn off caffeine? All the Make Modeling Mediocre Again group here are now decaffeinated. Sigh!

Re: Family. Can’t live with them. Can’t kill them.
The obnoxious niece, and the equally obnoxious child she bore, onto this earth paid a visit. Said child decided that no he can’t go to the shed, and play, actually meant he could go to the shed and play with the tanks. His mother has previously expressed that he was not allowed to use them, as they would turn him into a mass murdering brat, and children should not be allowed to play with toys like this.
Long story short, he managed to pull down the shelf with the Leopard on it. The Leopard now need a fair bit of repair work, as does the tank transporter.
Apparently I’m not supposed to be angry, with him, as he was expressing his individuality.

Our new kitten did a similar thing to me over the holidays, easily besting a Tiger tank... off to the hardware store!

Sorry man. I have another grandkid on the way and I have these dreams where they destroy my tanks... It will still be years before they are old enough to wonder my house, but I still think about it.
I had one of those Viper USA 1/6th scale mostly resin Tigers sitting on shelf years ago and my cat got up on the shelf. He walked to the outside edge of the tank and it fell 5 feet to the concrete garage floor. I had paid about $600 plus shipping for that thing and it was unrecoverable as most of the resin pieces shattered.

Re: Family. Can’t live with them. Can’t kill them.
Years ago,
I had just finished the Rebuild, the 1st Rebuild of the Heng Long Pershing into the Korean War B50 Tank. 6 months worth of work. (I worked faster in those days) and I had put that tank in the Great Room on the Desk I had bought to display the finished ones on. My Boy, Waylon, came along, he was wearing a muzzle because these were his furniture eating years. He managed to hook the muzzle guard (how about that coincidence) and pull it off the Desk. Busted...Man, I was soooo mad. But I looked at him and he was scared and I realized that the Tank was stuff. It could be fixed and it was. Came out even better...sits in the Tank Room to this day. Waylon sleeps up on a shelf here close to me with his big brother Jack and older sister, Wish. I hugged Waylon that night and made it Ok for him. He knew that I cared more about him than furniture or models or any other stuff. I still do. I'll see all of them again one day. For now, Luna and Luke help me remember that stuff is just stuff. Temporary. Family, whatever form it takes is forever. Thanks for giving me a few. This has been on my heart for a long time now.
regards, all, Happy New Years to everyone!
