My First Tank
My first tank getting into the hobby! 1/16 Heng Long German Königstiger! I am absolutely in love with it, I had a little trouble getting the metal hub caps on so I decided to leave them off. I cannot wait to add some details and weathering to give it an added look of realism.

Re: My First Tank
Good Morning!
You will have fun with this one. ( I know this ;o) Best to leave those metal hubs off until you have removed the running gear to primer and paint it and reinstall at any rate. When you are ready to mount them, a drop of thin machine oil rubbed around the base of the hub will allow it to be tapped in gently with a hobby hammer (nylon and brass head, available almost everywhere) Have fun and ask questions of the forum as needed. Check out some of the King Tiger Builds on the Sub Forum for Tips and Tricks and Advice.

Painless

Re: My First Tank
You can look for a socket that fits over the cap & picks up on the outer edge, then tap each one in with a small hammer.

Congrats.
My first was a little blond named...
Oh wait we talking tanks. My first was a guy named HL M4 Sherman.
Read the Painting and Weathering forum. You'll get good ideas.
With the metal hubs, try (start with one) putting it in your freezer.
Thermal contraction of the metal will occur. It might work.

Re: My First Tank
All good ideas BUT a word of advice if one or more are or become loose do not be tempted to use glue to retain them because one day you will want to remove a wheel or two and then where are you ?
I recommend glueing a tiny Neo-Dyminion magnet to the base of the hubcap.

are my goto for magnets, excellent service.
