Yes, you must! Then when you get the 7.0 installed, you will say, "That was worth it!" ;D

Other advantages of the 7.0--you can shut off or limit the track recoil when firing the gun, and sound volume is controlled from the transmitter. No more flipping over your tank to fiddle with the volume knob!

:D A rechargeable battery (not a cell battery) is usually charged at one-tenth of its capacity. For example, a 2000 mAh battery would be 2000 divided by 10 = 200 mAh, or 0.2 Amps, and it takes 13-14 hours to charge. Depending on the brand and type of battery, it may be possible to charge at 0.5C if indicated on the battery. This is done with an automatic or "smart" charger
What type of charger do you use?

For the price it's hard to go wrong with one of these. I've been using mine for the last 5 years with no issues on different battery/plug types. You can spend more I suppose but easy to buy on Amazon

I, too, recommend the sort of charger shown above. There is one trick: these can charge both Lithium Polymer and Lithium Ion batteries. However, it is not so easy to figure out how to set these chargers to charge the Lithium Ion type. Here's what showed me the way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGiInCMNq9w
