Unable to make a choice.

Post by Meter rat »

I have a possibility of getting a Haya Centurion. The decision is between the AVRE or the MK 3. Which one would yous choose and why?

My thoughts:-

AVRE Only used by the British, Looks funky, can only really do a repaint.
Mk 3. More choices, of countries, and variants, but not an IDF one. Not for any police reasons, just they have been done to death.
You don’t get wiser as you get older. You just run out of stupid things to do.

The AVRE...............or, a Vietnam Aussie version.
The AVRE would be pretty unusual in this scale, thats for sure.

Nice to be spoiled for choice, One tip I offer free gratis and for nothing,
At the rear of the Cent are 2 tow cable holders that fit one each side on the top of the rear fenders,
The instructions say mount them with the access slot facing outwards,
It may well be how they are on the prototype but if you do the tow ropes will not stay in place,
Turn them through 180 degrees with the slot facing inwards.
This applys to both the Haya and the Tongde Centurions.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

AVRE for sure. Way more unique.

If you collect enough tanks, after awhile, the long barrel on a turret look becomes old and blend in together. I guarantee that if you have a collection, people will ask what is the AVRE before they ask what kind of tank the rest are.

It has always been kind of the forgotten war and I can admit also a confusing one for me. Even the Canadian Korean war vets are dwindling in number very fast now each Remembrance Day. Growing up as a kid with the Vietnam war ongoing and my Dad being in WW2 focused me on those 2 conflicts

Technically the Korean War never ended. They only have an armistice, there was no formal peace treaty. I got to walk into North Korea on the tour at the DMZ. Of course we walked right back out. :)

Good Morning,
British and Australian Armor turned the Tide at a Number of Crucial spots when things looked lost. I did B50 from the Inchon landings some years ago but now that Commonwealth Armor is showing up in an affordable fashion, it will be time to revisit the 'Police Action' again one day soon. Voting Korean Armor.
regards,
