I agree it’s a subjective topic, just had a different outcome in mind than what I see is all.
Pushing on, the track segments on 722 seem to be piled up but loose and that doesn’t work for me!
The Kubinka example that Mr Jee so wonderfully photographed for us has retaining plates on the upper glacis plate .
I went with that idea.
Spare unknown metal links secured and faux retainers made using bolts sliced fom a StuG add on armoured plate on top of styrene strips to get the look near enough .
A loose link was chucked on to get a haphazard feel without going as far as the piles!!

Me too. I've come to prefer the 2 tone camo on panzers over the tri colour and I prefer the green rather than red bands. That's going to look cool and the camo will fit right in when it's transported after Kursk to Italy

Gday folks, back in the game........

Been a bit jaded/reluctant/uninspired call it what you will.
Sometimes its the simple things in life that create the spark & jolt a body out of a malaise.
For me it was having to be totally immersed in a weekend of Girls Dance Auditions.................yep, zero tanks, zero things I would usually do over a weekend........ You will all be familiar with the musical Annie ?
Well my Lassies got selected from 1000 applicants(that number was capped) to go and audition for a role in the musical which is currently on tour here in Sydney and Melbourne, a paying role, with a lot of weight and influence in the future, in front of 8 of the Country's top producers & show biz types.
That audition was for 250 kids with a cast to be taken of 22 kids.
One of mine was cut on arrival, too damn tall , the other(younger) went & did her thing and came out with a big nod, thru to the next discipline.
She goes again, come out again wildly nodding, she has got thru to the next day, the last 45 kids to have a crack.
We go again on Sunday.............our time slot meant a mid day arrival, find out that 18 kids had been cut already
In she goes, was in for 2 & a half hours.................this time, no nod.
Out of a 1000 kids, then 250, then 50, then 27, then she misses out. The energy & dignity that wee girl showed, after putting in so much her feet were blistered, and she looked a hot shambolic mess, to miss out by a poofteenth, was a lesson to me.

I only had to figure out how to get numbers on a model, she had to be choreographed, script retention tested, interviewed, sing, dance and all that over 2 days..............
Yeah, she had it WAAAAAAAAAY easy

I masked off the area that needed the numbers, used a pencil to very lightly etch a shape on the paint to follow with a 0.7mm paint marker.
With the feeling of do not fail in mind, on they went.
Pretty happy with the outcome, very in fact.
Looks about right for heavily stylised hand painted numbers & letter N's.
Now I can chip it & seal it,

Oh, Bix, my heartfelt congratulations to both of your daughters! Theirs is absolutely no failure whatsoever; rather, it is a triumph! (You are probably more fortunate than you deserve. )

The Ferdinand, oh, yeah... The camouflage you have created is probably cleaner than actually would have occurred in the field where a powder paint was sprayed with a potent thinner (like gasoline/petrol). Just as you so correctly explain, forge on by your daughters' example.
