My jeep arrived yesterday, purchased from rctank.de at the pre-order price of €180 (currently around €200).

My impressions:

Scale-wise, it's OK – a few millimeters too narrow, but the length and wheelbase are accurate. The suspension also makes it a bit too tall. The chassis and body are made of pot metal (similar to what matchbox cars are made of) . This makes the model quite heavy.

The 4x4 drive handles quite well, even off-road. There are two driving modes: fast and slow. It handles very well at slow speed. The turning radius could be smaller. The lights can be turned off with the remote control. There are no sounds. The tires are soft, hollow rubber.

The details are a bit simplified, especially those cast on the bodywork; The set includes a driver who appears to be 1:18 scale and looks comical behind the wheel. The decals are Heng Long style, meaning they're useless.

Ultimately, I made it "straight out of the box" (I only replaced the jerry can).

We do need a 1/16 R/C Jeep but this leaves a lot to be desired,
The wind shield looks totally wrong as does the steering wheel,
More Dinky than Tamiya.
The search goes on.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Crude details everywhere. $320CAD should get you more than a hood with pimples for windshield and hood hold downs, and sideview mirror mounts that scale up to a baseball bat.
Swing and a miss, Lu Xing Zhe!

Yeah, but I still prefer it to a 1/12 or 1/14 giants running around among 1/16 models ;) In addition, it is more capable off-road than, for example, the Ford GPA, which is also very delicate in comparison. I could put a body from Andy's Hobby on the chassis, but the delicate details would be destroyed after the first ride ;)

I agree. I think it's a stout little jeep.
