I'll bet it was picked out by AI searching for keywords and images and immediately removed with no verification for context. Explains the inconsistency in application.
Even Ebay is using AI to screen listings (and they admit it), which is a monumental uphill battle of pain when you try to reason with their helpdesk. Hop on board the struggle bus!

Do they object to the video or the text accompanying the video?

Using AI to look for scammers reusing pictures from other listings or people selling fake designer label products on Ebay, or looking for copywritted video & music on Youtube is one thing, but what do you have to show to an AI to get it to decide that radio control tanks on their own are hate speach? Plenty of channels, large and small on youtube have footage of both historic and modern tanks, as well as models and video games - they would all be wiped if it was an over zealous AI at work here.
No, I think a human being has tagged them - and once its tagged its either going to be shown to AI, or at best a minimum wage call center worker in a 3rd world country, neither of which will be sufficiently trained to understand what they are looking at is not an endorsement of the 3rd Reich, and therefore the video is deleted by default. Go to somebody's home page and tag 3 or 4 other videos and their channel is gone.
But who would do such a thing?
I have a friend who has had exactly the same problem with a ww2 tank Facebook group he set up - the group is still up, but because somebody decided to go after him, Facebook kicked him off his own group.
If anyone is really concerned about losing their channel, I'd recommend making your videos unlisted and link to them from a forum post. It won't be discoverable by the general public, but people with the link will be see it.

- Karen's who think you are weirdo who likes war and/or Hitler.
- Kids who take down channels 'for the lolz' (the same kind of 'kiddy script' assholes that hacked this forum or more that one occasion in the past).
- Disgruntled fellow modellers - I've known a few spiteful types over the years who I wouldn't put this sort of thing past...

Anything they like, and Youtube will never tell you what it was that tiggered their action.michaelwhittmann wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 10:23 pm Do they object to the video or the text accompanying the video?

PBS just did an interesting program relevant to this thread, regarding on online advocacy of violence, a matter far more widespread and complicated than I had imagined: https://www.pbs.org/video/the-rise-and- ... am-opbc2w/

The algorithm also removes videos with static models.

Here's a conspiracy theory for you - the content is not the reason, its just the excuse, to get rid of an account containing quite a volume of data in relation to the number of views/subscribers, and hence little opportunity for youtube to monetise those views to cover the cost of the data storage.

Re: YouToube censors videos with German RC tank models
This doesn't make sense. My friend literally had 10 videos and 3 subscribers. And in his videos the models weren't even finished. It turns out that according to the AI algorithm his King Tiger promotes Nazism.
Re: YouToube censors videos with German RC tank models
Deleting video's on the basis that they contain model KingTigers doesn't make sense either. If it was just that, then Andy's HHQ, MBK and Fine Scale Modeller would be gone too.

This is all completely random. Youtube removes a 30 second video of one Tiger model but leaves 30 minutes of coverage from a model fair with dozens of German tanks.
