KT/Nashorn Ammunition shells detailed.

Post by dgsselkirk »

So, after 10 days finally finished up the 3D printed 88's that I got from my buddy Tom. ! I decided to try and add the shell rims using a brass tube heated like a punch through thin styrene plastic and then glued to the bottom. Of course we can fix this for next time. Painted , clear coated, decals added and final gloss and flat coats added. I think they turned out ok for first time trying the 3D . Next time would sand them a bit smoother. 🙂 I may work up a kit for these that would include the shells and decals...

Those are simply amazing. I have made 3" ammo out of styrene and 105mm ammo on the lathe from aluminum and they came out pretty good - that is until I saw these!

If you work up a kit, I'm sure they would be welcomed. Nice wok!

Those are really cool. The pics look so much better on my tablet than the ones in the FB groups on my phone. Nice work

Thanks for the feedback guys! Yes, thinking about producing kits to come with a decal set. For kits, how many complete shells and how many expended casings would you like to see in a kit? Also, which ammo would you like to see? Obviously KT and Tiger but also thinking Panther/75mm gun, Sherman 75, 76, 105, 90mm for M10's, M36, Centurion?, IDF 105mm? Others? Looking for feedback! :-)

Just my opinion... I would think 5 loaded one empty per set!?! Personally, I'd be looking for the allied stuff.

Certainly decals with the 88 shells would be an advantage over some others available. (Well, somewhat available in North America.) But I do agree that other types would be less commonly available. Shells for WWII Allies tanks could make a good start, and I am unaware of any kits of shells for new MBTs.
