Re: some of my planes 1/18
Interesting to see this topic .. I first came across these models around 2008 when I saw one in a model shop in Wales ... liked the look of them straight away and eventually managed to but the P51 that was in the shop, since then I have a friend in Canada who has a whole bunch of these, mostly unmade too and acquired two more myself.
I have three at present, the P51, an F4U corsair and the 'Razorback', the P47 Thunderbolt, not sure of the make of the P51 as there are no marks on it, but the F4U is Blue Box Int and the P47 a 21st Century model from 2003.

Re: some of my planes 1/18
Between 2001 and about 2010 I bought number of these 1/18 aircraft and have them all on shelves excepting a few that remain as kits. I have always wished for more, even if they are not great scale models to satisfy modeling champions. Someday I'd like to build one of the Avenger kits or the FW 190 that I have in kits so I can do some more careful modeling work on them than those that came already built.

What I like about them is that they are marked to represent actual aircraft .. my P51 model is 'Petie 2nd' which is still flying today.

Awesome aircraft. It and the stepson P51D, the perfection of the piston/prop flight!

Re: some of my planes 1/18
I wish I didn't have the memory of a fish and could remember the brand name of the 1/18 P51s manufactured some years after the earlier array of 1/18 aircraft went out of production. "Petie" was one of them. Another represented the "Red Tails," a famous African-American group that finally got to fly later in WWII and acquitted itself quite well helping to protect U.S. bombers. I had to laugh when I got the "Red Tail" one, as it came with a white pilot! That was an easy paint touch up.
Ad Lav: the Spitfire was the most expensive one I bought some years after it was in production. I was glad to get it!

The two main manufacturers seems to be 21st Century Toys and Blue Box .. the F4U being Blue Box and the P47 21st Century ... as you say, strangely 'Petie 2nd' isn't marked at all but I would assume it was made by one of those two makers ??

Re: some of my planes 1/18
IF I recall correctly, the later P51s were sold under other names---not necessarily from different the manufacturers you have named. These names included "Elite Force" and "Ultimate Soldier." "Petie" seems to have been under both the name "Flight Wing," and "Ultimate Soldier" names. Just as some HengLong tanks show up under various names, so, too, did the 1/18 aircraft. One of the ways you might identify some of the product line names (although probably not the actual maker) is to search eBay "1/18 P51 Mustang."
