Top marks for such an interesting build/conversion. It’s inspired me to build another Sherman…….

Thank you everyone,

Here is a photoshoot of the tank commander and loader.

US tank crew during the Korean war used late WW2 uniforms and equipment, so there are many options available. After dealing with bad 3D printed figures on the previous build, resin figures are a pleasure to work with and to appreciate the fine details.

The tow cable has also been installed but i cannot connect it to the front anchor because i need to keep the upper hull removable, so it's just deposited there, probably still realistic.

And one last strings of pictures of the Sherman taken outside in minus 10c but sunny.

It must be near the Yalu river... Too bad all our snow melted last week and none is planned for next 2 weeks. I wanted to do a Chosin reservoir photoshoot, well, maybe later.

This is it, the build is over. Hope you like the information and the pictures. This is definitely my best Sherman by far. It was a short build of not even 6 weeks, a record. Not having to scratch build everything makes a big difference. I will do more of such build in the future, specially in winter as it it less messy and dusty to work with a nice kit when i work inside.

Regards, Louis

Those last four pictures...

If I didn't watch the build, I'd have thought it a full size monument tank!

The figures look great! Are they from Royal Model di R. Reale?

Yes, these are Royal Models 1/16 WWII US Tank Crew No. 2. Can be found at BNA Model World, and on eBay, original or copies.

Resin cast figures, beautiful, well reseached, historically accurate in extreme details, highly recommended.

Good morning, :D
superb work, well thought out and good ideas...personally I don't really understand the principle of the machine gun? the two plates? Would you be kind enough to give me more details, thank you in advance

Thanks, I assume you are referring to the two ugly plasticard strips for the bow machine gun inside the hull, one is glued to the machine gun and the other one is glued to the hull, but the two strips slide on each other. When the machine gun is moved left and right by the servo, it keeps the machinegun mostly horizontal, facing forward at the enemy infantry in front of the tank instead of shooting at birds, with just a little bit of looseness so that it does not look mechanical. It's simple but i think it is efficient.

 Thank you very much, ugly pieces of plastic? maybe? but it works, and only the result counts, so I will copy, if you like? Have a nice weekend
