Hmm, I think we must be talking about different things, there's definitely no modern tanks section in the main navigation, here's a couple screenshots of the main navigation I'm talking about (sorry they look weird, I'm on mobile, first is the actual mobile main navigation and second is "desktop mode" on mobile)

If I click on the menu it does show up there too (never hit the menu button before that). And it is in the grey banner at the bottom of each forum page.

Uhhhhm, I don't see a listing for a pantiger or snow leopard... sniff....whine...

Nope. it is still in production. But yes, we skipped model known as "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named".

And HengLong also marketed what it called a ZTZ 99A. I have one buried in the vault of future 1/16 fun.
