Smoke unit only on 4 volts

Post by THOverkill »

Hello all,

I have a Torro King Tiger and the smoke unit was broken, I've bought a replacement and fitted it, but it doesn't work.

I've found that the board it's powered from is only suppling 4 volts.

Running the smoke unit on a 7.2v power supply it works OK.

Is 4 volt the correct voltage?

It's a Taigen Smoke Unit V2.

Thanks for looking :)

I'm new to RC tanks, is it possible the voltage increases when moving?

Sorry, I can answer my own question, 'yes' the voltage goes up as you drive the tank, but it's not very good. I think I need a mod of some sort :)

THOverkill: it sure seems as if you know what you are doing, and it's good that you have found the solution. I hope you will check out viewtopic.php?t=23936 and do an introduction.
