Anti-aircraft searchlight
Anti-aircraft searchlight
An older project, but just want to share a construction thread here as well.
Had this wild led which takes a 9v battery directly and since I was in Normandy I've been a bit crazy about the big anti-aircraft searchlight so why not play around with that idea.
This model I'm thinking of.
After a trip to various boxes and around the boys' room, I had a few things to go on with.
Here is what I achieved today... Now it needs some paint and the electrics installed, so time will tell if it can look roughly right.
It won't be 100%, I know
So It got primer for the first time
Also started fitting lights and it all works, still need the finished paint and some weathering.
As I said, I know it's not 100% "right", but I hope it will be okay
Then it was finished
A Sherman just came by
Pictures of on and off
And then just a link to a small video on YT

A really great "stuff lying around" project. Love the scooter, and the tank ain't half bad either!

Re: Anti-aircraft searchlight
...more brilliant use of stuff "just layin' around"! Wow! I envy your ingenuity. I do have one question: I wonder if a real mirror could be cut to fit inside the housing.
Re: Anti-aircraft searchlight
I think it might be possible to do that, but I don't dare end up just cutting off a finger
Re: Anti-aircraft searchlight
You can get mirrored plastic, should be easier to cut?
Looks great btw!
