Well, if those blasted measurements aren’t precise to the micrometer, then I shan’t invite you to Lord Wellington-Bodley-Smythe’s private lounge down the club. And it shall be pistols at dawn!

Hes one for yas..................

Went off to look for the material for the replacement side skirts this morning.
Spotlight for the Aussie locals.
Went around the place looking and feeling for something that might work.
Wife & kids in tow.
Took a few reams(thats what ,materials called I think) of black material up to a counter.

Me "May I have a very narrow strip of this stretchy vinyl please. And another of this stuff. "
Counter operator "what are you doing with it ? " I assume now shes thinking a 200mm wide strip is pretty short I suppose and would I need anything to sew it with.
Me in an instant reply " making a skirt for my tank"
Well, she shot a glance at the wife, Wife looked at me, kids burst out laughing, operator blushed, wife gave me the teapot (thats when they stand with one arm on the hip with steam coming out the top- you married guys will get that) and waited for me to explain further what that actually meant
Digging upwards furiously( out of the proverbial deep hole of ^&%$t :poop: ) I explained that its for simulated rubber guards on a plastic model.

Get out to the car, Wife "I cant believe that B&%^%$ thought you called me a Tank "' ................
To that I offered ZERO further comment :problem:

Thanks God for alcohol :/

A good pic of the Chinese Dazzler
Note the untidy angle iron mounts.
I will replicate them as terribly as I can !

Honestly, I hate it when they ask me that. They never know what the hell I'm talking about, and look at me as if I'm an idiot.

"What are you using this for?"
"I'm building terrain for a wargame."
"Doing what for what?"
"I'm building a diorama..."
"Oh. I thought only kids did those."
"I have seen the first of the new tanks today. They are beautiful."

Im calling the dazzler almost done. Still to add a cover plate for it.
Compromising extreme accuracy for a degree of RC practicality and robustness, I wound solder wire around the body using gel super glue all the way.
While not a perfect replica of the small welds around the shell in pictures, its going to be close enough and should withstand any handling or in this case, postage brutality.
I used brass channel to carry the shell, again using gel super glue to keep it in place, and brass square & channel to represent the vibration dampers on the mount.
There is a lot of gel glue in this to try to secure this feature to the turret, & I will be devastated if it doesn't even make the delivery trip :(
The assembly will receive welds around it using Tamiya 2 part putty , but the ultimate key is to make the thing stay on the turret.
Last thing I want is a cross Pacific journey to find when the box is opened its in need of a rebuild :problem:

Next mission is the smoke candles.

Even if you drill the pegs out thevthing still needs cutting off.
Thank you. Something I will tackle when my new saw arrives.

This site is getting weird. Trying to explain to the wife why I was laughing, was interesting.
It went something like:- You have Herr Dr in suspenders, and Mr Bix in a big cod piece, and a rubber skirt. :{

Fantastic work on this.
