Taking another of those crappy little black plastic 'tank' chassis you find on Amazon and Ebay, I had cast around for something else to put on it. I discovered it was about right length wise for a 1/16 version of Das Werk's PzSfl 1a 5cm Pak 38, if about 10mm too narrow and the idler in the wrong place...

So after many hours of modelling, I ended up with this:
PzSfl1a (sort of)
Re: PzSfl1a (sort of)
The sprockets and tracks are the same, or as near as damnit, as those of the Kettenkrad so I used the freedom model kit parts as a reference for mine:
The next 2 sets I did in Sunlu ABS-like resin. Much tougher stuff, but tough enough? Only time will tell. If that fails, I also have some Nylon-like resin to try as well.
The wheels were done in PETG, which predictably started to fall apart as I prised the support material out. One of these days I will figure out how to get good results with it but for now MEK will have to hold it all together.
The first set of track links were done in Elegoo water based resin, but I have doubts about how long they will hold up - I expect them to either stretch beyond being useful, or just pull apart in a turn. Either way, 'for science' and all that...The next 2 sets I did in Sunlu ABS-like resin. Much tougher stuff, but tough enough? Only time will tell. Now just waiting on the last few parts to finish and I'll be able to paint it with a more photogenic colour:

And in the meantime, here is the original 'Gepanzerter Munitionsschlepper' version:
