Model Builder 4: Thanks to you, the M10 has recoil and elevation—and I can see how to wiggle in gun flash. Woo Hoo!
Jofaur: I didn’t need the TV remote, but I sure will keep those instructions. Thank you.

After nearly four years of :headbang: I have the Mato M10 about to where I want it for basics. From the outset, this thing was a bunch of malfunctions. I have redone the drive sprockets, tracks, servos, complete turret ( :O ). Here it is on the modeling table with unweathered base paint over primer. While getting back to my FAMO project (I had to wait for a speaker) I can decide on markings (hit the books!), weathering, and stowage.

My thanks to Abramsky, Jofaur86, Rad_Schuhart, Shootermcgraw, Model Builder 4—and I hope I didn’t miss any of you who have been helpful. As you can see, the M10 now looks “factory fresh,” a look I like. But once I decide which tank to roughly replicate, I will at least do moderate weathering and pile on the packs, etc., as so it seems it was with the M10s. I hope to hide the fact that the turret has no tie-down fasteners :{ by hanging on so much stowage one cannot tell. @)

Herr Doc!
I am jealous! I have the M36 B2 and it is a Mess of Stowage and Crazy Joe now. Your M10 is clean and fresh. I am glad to hear the running issues are ironed out. I remember the recoil servo being the biggest bear on the M36. The new Sherman M4A3 from Mato came in recently with no issues so maybe they are getting better at their builds.

Painless,
The M10’s recoil servo was the problem in second place, after the drive sprockets, for the PITA award. Once I resigned myself to an overhaul, I had the servo working and tested it again and again. It still worked after the primer. Then after the base Olive Drab, it quit. Figuring it was stuck by paint, I put it on my servo tester. No go. So I tested a new servo. No go at all. Then I tested a third servo. No go. Ah, Holmes, the servo tester and the original Mato servo were both kaput. So with magnifying glasses and tweezers in just a half hour I replaced the servo on the recoil: it works. I do need to order a new servo tester.

Herr Doc!
You stuck with it and solved it in the best Holmesian manner. ;0) Servo testers are kinda indespensable with this crowd!
