TT (Table Top) Versus 1/16.

Watching the television I saw that Hornby are resurrecting TT Trains,
I have yet to see one in metal/plastic so I would like to know how close or not TT is to our own 1/16 scale before spending my hard earned on a track and engine or two.

Table top is tiny, its 1:120 scale i believe.

TT is 1:120 (12mm rail gauge).

1/16 is III ("three") scale (89mm / 3+1⁄2 in gauge).

I don't think 1/16 trains exist, at least not in the US. The closest I know of here is G, garden scale, ca. 1/32. At a train show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I have seen 1/8 scale farm tractors on flatbeds.

1/16 is not common at all.
However I have been designing my own for my personal garden railway for my father and myself. I like having everything same size.
But the size difference between them and other scale trains are cool to see
