Tk40s firefly with Futaba

Post by Kyoz84 »

Has a anyone used a clark board on a futaba radio? Looking to get the TK40S firefly for my shernan build and really don't want to buy that fkysky radio. Will it work the same? Install my sbus receiver and assign the switches to the first 10 channels? I'm using a futaba 16iz radio.

There are a few radios the TKs do not like. I found out the hard way it didn't like my FrSky Q7. I think you are going to pretty much be on your own with this one as most of us use the Flysky radio because it's easy to setup and cheap to buy.

One thing of note on the TK40 series...always...always use an 8ohm speaker. If you don't you will have all kinds of different issues. The newer TK50s and TK80s can use either a 4ohm or an 8ohm speaker. I had a 4ohm speaker on mine and the sound cut out A LOT. This is a known issue and also Clark only recommends an 8ohm speaker for the TK40.

Hello, indeed it is possible to use an HP 8 Ohms on a 4 Ohms output, but the reverse is not recommended, except to have distortions or grilled the output stage. :{

If you are using a SBus board from Clark you have to use the FlySky radio. I tried to get a Futaba to work with the Sbus on Clark and it is just not compatible.
