I know nothing about Sherman’s let alone Tamiya ones, so I can assume your doing a smashing job!!
I have seen mods using heng long elevation units to replace the Tamiya ones, I did it on my King Tiger, might be worth investigating?

:) Hello, and thank you Mr Bix,
yes I have on another Forum (BTN) found a system with Tam mechanical recoil. But too complicated to set up, in the very restricted space of the Sherman turret, or to have nimble fingers :haha:
Already there, several transformations, adaptations, necessary, to get there, with a modest tool
