Christmas special voting.

NUMBER 1. SoCalBobS January

Okeydokey, I'll start the tanks rolling again.

This is a Zik-20, a 152mm fixed turret assault gun build on a KV chassis. It only reached the development point of a wooden mockup and was sidelined by some power politics. The SU-152 and the KV-2 ultimately filled this niche. The conversion kit is made by Vandramodel in Hungary. The camouflage pattern is based on the official Russian three color set, which I guess wasn't used all that often. I took off the side skirt plates on the Heng Long mold for this tank.

Sharp eyes may notice an incongruous object on top of the casement; an IR receiver. I use this tank in IR club battles. Because of its flush mount and the height of the casement, it's hard to hit in close quarters battle. The IR emitter is mounted in the barrel. The gun has servo actuated elevation.

NUMBER 3. SoCalBobS March

This is a 1:35 scale Tamiya model of the British Mk 4 tank. The original radio control was absolutely unusable, so I substituted electronics from a Heng Long 1:30 scale Pershing tank. This gave me sound, which the Tamiya equipment did not have; engine, cannon and machine gun noises. Of course, the sounds are "probably" not authentic, but who can remember that long ago! At least the Tamiya gearing allows slow movement.

NUMBER 7. stu_the_flat October.

I'll stick my neck out with the Fighting Girlfriend, Did a lot of research and got it as close as I could to the original. the trick with this tank is it is possible to see the drivers perspective as you drive the tank.
