Nice catch. I bet it will be on its way to the US very soon.

That's a serious trophy and I suspect you are right about it's future too. NATO will be very interested in this one.

Unbelievable it was intact. Maybe they ambushed the crew or possibly the Russian army really is in such a bad state they don't care.

The T-90 is practically a heavily modernized T-72. Americans won't find anything interesting there ;) The Ukrainians had better finds ealier, such as electronic warfare systems, command centers etc.

You're right that any old T-90 wouldn't be much of a trophy, but a T-90M fresh from the factory floor certainly is. You can bet the Western allies are going to want to find out the capabilities of the new domestically-produced sights and electronics that the Russians have switched over to following the sanctions.

There is nothing new the Russians have switched over to since the sanctions?

I'd say that the real life inspection of the armour make up, ammo and latest optics will be of immense use to the NATO analysts.
The latest gen Russian ERA and live-kill anti ATGW system that has allegedly been fitted should also be a handy intelligence coup for NATO smarty-pant's !!
If nothing else, the sheer concept of a very late non-export version MBT being on display to any Tom-Dick-& Nato must be disconcerting.

Doesn't the M designation mean manufactured for export? As in it doesn't have all the cool guy bells and whistles? From what I gather the t90 isn't the most advanced t72 in use anymore. I would be surprised if NATO would learn anything new from this capture. Didn't the US buy a bunch of t90s for iraq? A few other countries field the t90. Half of them or more are built in india. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more t90s outside of russia than inside of russia. And I think NATO would probably summarize their assessment with "Yep, still a deathtrap."
