Hello from Illinois

Post by StuG Life »

Hi, me name is Carl. Since I was a kid, I have been interested in German armor from WWII. I’ve loved reading osprey books on them and am an avid player of World of Tanks.

I built a lot of models when I was younger and had thought about RC models for a couple years. I took the plunge last week and purchased a Heng long StuG III. I spent the extra money to get the metal tracks gearbox and wheels.

Now I’m looking online and In books for modeling ideas. Im sure I’ll have a lot of questions for the forum. Looking forward to it.

Carl hi, Welcome to the Forum
You like Tank Destroyers?
Well there is a wide choice on just German chassis alone in 1/16,
Jagd Panzer/Jagd Panther/Jagd Tiger just for starters and there are lots of good builds to check out if you look through the menu,
We look forward to your questions and please do join in any thread that catches your attention.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Greetings from southern Wisconsin, where nothing is really southern at all. There are quite a few books on the Sturmgeschütz III. I think I listed some in the reference section here on RCTW;if not, remind me to do so. In the meanwhile, just in case you have not already done so, check out https://daviddoylebooks.com/.

A Welcome, Carl, from distant Scotland. Seeing your new avatar, and declared interest in StuGs, reminds me I have an unfinished StuG IV lurking in my collection. :/ :D Before too long, I'm betting you'll also have a 'to do' list, and a growing collection, in the future.

Greetings Carl from just across the Mighty Mississippi,

I too am a fan of StuG's. I just like their low, lean, ready to pounce look! There have been some real beauties on here, so I'm sure you'll find lots of info and ideas! Good to have you with us!

Cheers,
Eric.
