I'm finishing this for my late father in law and thats his paint job so it must stay. Not to mention the high level of natural weathering I'd lose.NAB wrote:Why don't you get it repaired then give it a dark yellow base coat and some new camo?

Ok so I'm giving up on matching the paint colours and the panzer is now being washed ready for paint.
I've found dunkelgelb for the base and am pondering the camouflage pattern and technique.-

A simple two colour camouflage scheme is the plan.
Camo putty or blu-tac, which is best in your opinion and why please?-

Hello,
why not keep it in the original colors, if you wish to keep the spirit of Madame's dad ?? Personally the US Army green, does not seem very suitable for a Tiger I? but remains only my opinion. link to the colors used by the German army at that time

The problem with the original colours is matching them Jofaur.
Yuck, didn't spot that being septic paint, I shall pick an alternative.

The price of these paints seems crazy to me btw.

Same price, smaller can but thanks for the steer.
We may have discovered the original paints used, bringing this part of the saga to an end finally.
Just to clarify, I'm probably a tad ocd and combining that with a helping of colour blindness makes for some butt hurt when colour matching.

I may have the actual paint used on this tank by my father in law Jofaur but thanks always.
It occurs to me that mounting the HL gearboxes may be greatly assisted by using the carcasses of the original Tamiya items as bases.
