Title covers it.
Hi Folks,
I want to build a Panzer III, Ausf G and need the earlier type sprockets and idler wheels.
I have the late style to trade but will purchase if needed.
I am located in the US in Georgia 31326.
TIA,

Barry, one of the vendors on eBay (goes by the name "Manheader" but real name is Patrick and sells Kenny Kong stuff) used to sell the early Pz III sprocket and idler. He doesn't show any in his current listings, but it may be worth messaging him and asking is he still has any squirreled away somewhere. I'll link one of his listings in case you want to contact him: https://www.ebay.com/itm/163637850997?h ... Sw7Ppcf~dd
You know, I was just thinking about something that was discussed several years ago, (which is vaguely related). The idler on the Panzer III measured 770mm in diameter. When you scale this to 1/16, it should come out to just over 48mm. But, all of the Panzer III/StuG III idler wheels - whether stock plastic ones or metal aftermarket ones - measure 43mm. Somebody once (maybe back on RC Tank Regiment) spent a lot of effort to correct a plastic one, and it really made a difference in the overall appearance of the suspension! (I wouldn't have thought so, but it did). I have waited for years to see a corrected one, and (now that the StuG III kit from Takom/Das Werk has been announced), maybe we will! -Mike

Greetings Mike,
I had found them with Toucan Hobbies but fiddled around an let them get away.
I have sent him an inquiry an will do then same with Patrick.
Interesting about the size, 5mm is very noticeable!
Thanks,
Barry

Barry - are these Stug sprockets any good?
Not sure what the red crosses mean, but says they are in stock.

Oh wow, I was way off.

Hey Barry;
I just remembered that I once bought a set because I needed that early drive sprocket for an early Nashorn build. I never did need the early idlers, so I went through the Nashorn box just in case I had them there. Sure enough! PM me your address and I'll get them out to you by tomorrow or Friday. I know that it doesn't give you everything you need for your build, but maybe you can claim that the field workshop changed to a later sprocket to fit new 40cm tracks. -Mike
