taigen road wheels

Post by Topper »

Hello
Probably a silly question, the tracks on my Tiger 1 are too loose or too tight, when I turn right or left ,one of the late war wheels comes off, Do I tighten or loosen the tracks?
Thanks in advance

Hello :D
That her wheel come off? the Sprocket (toothed wheel which drives the track) a rolling roller, or tensioning wheel?

Generally speaking, a track will leave a wheel if it is too loose. However, another common cause is that all the wheels, sprokets and idlers are not correctly aligned. Check alignment first then adjust tension. Test, repeat if necessary!

Are the gearboxes secure, if not the output shafts will not run true,
Do you have gearbox output shaft bearings installed, Are the output shafts straight,
Are the sprockets tight,Are the idlers true, Are all the wheelsets in line and firmly mounted,
Are you running outdoors in sand or soft earth or long grass,
Do the tracks when they come off the top of the sprocket pass over the top of the first and second wheel sets touching down on the top of the third wheel set, If they touch down earlier they are too loose.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Thanks for your help!!!
One of the sprockets and both tracks was loose. Can you recommend a decent set of Alan keys, I have a lot of keys but none are a good fit.

Any small metric set should be fine.

Funny, l used to know Stratford and passed wind in 1987. What prompted those unrelated snippets? ;)

Do you still ride? I retired from motorbikes when l decided l probably wouldn't bounce as well as l did when young but l couldn't sell my powered 2 wheels - still love cycling though.
