Pershing Tanker

Post by r32 »

Got a Tamiya Pershing Full Option kit, bought the following as well:
  • Spektrum DX6i
  • Tamiya Battle Unit
  • Li-Po battery packs
  • Ball-raced roadwheels
  • Impact Brass Gun Barrel arm
  • Tamiya TS-28 Olive Drab 2 (instead of the typical TS-5)
After 4 days of work I'm up to step 30, the lower hull is completed and the electronics checked out. Of course I couldn't resist driving it around a bit just like that! Now comes the fiddly plastic modeller bit of adding detail to the upper surfaces.

Pretty much typical Tamiya build, so not much photos to share for now.

Hi r32,
The Pershing is a beaut, its on my list. Admittedly that list of tanks is rather long, lol. Im doing a Tamiya Tiger build at the moment, and I can tell you th initial build on these things seems fairly simple, its the detailling that seems to take forever, lol. But thats the fun bit, right?  ;) :P

Welcome to the forum, and don't hesitate to ask questions. Everyone is quite friendly round here. If you like post a build thread in the Tamiya Builds section. Its always nice to see these kits coming together.

Cheers,
Rik

Thank you all, I also bought a Tamiya 6-speed gearbox to get at one particular gear that I will replace the turret rotating gears with. I'll post pictures of this when it goes onto the tank.

Tamiya Full Option Pershing T26E3

It is 95% complete! As it hasn't been run or fired in anger yet, it has no weathering done to it. There's also no accessories like jerry can, ammo boxes and suchlike. Since these tanks are about sound and movement I decided that crappy videos with a Nokia E75 are better than still images with a DSLR.

Expect outdoor stills to follow though!

Welcome and your build came together nicely. I have been working on my Pershing too and will weather it later. Right now I'm just enjoying driving it around.
