Torro/Taigen kit Tiger

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

Bucket, water jerry can and fuel drum . Classy hobby ? do a plastic kit of drums and jerry cans but always out of stock.

Hi Jimbo thanks . Its this that bothers me cleaning rods seam. The camera picks up the detail thats hard to spot on the model. :O Found a fix , superglue Aber PE on and they will look like metal ends. Much easier than doing it the proper way with styrene tube, brass bolt cut for threaded part and a brass tube at other end.

Every tank needs a number, and its better if its paint on  . No matt white so trying matt black , Zimmermit and decals just don't work.

Little bit of overspray, take you time and a lot of light passes usually works.

Some more paint and found a pic , put rubber wheels back on, fitted star sprocket covers don't know about the idlers so early ones back on . stencils for the other 2 numbers, rear bin perfect but the vision slit and gun lifting point are close and its rough as the stencil was a pain to fit . Hope it was the same on the real tank.

On a flat surface you get good results plus no decal edges. A few washes will blend in the paint.

The rough one , numbers on zimmermit probably were never perfect.

I love the attention to detail. It’s the little things that give a model character and being focused on a prototypical appearance is most commendable.

Hi Jimster Thanks , now i know why the Tiger 1 is a popular build. Every time you look for a detail something else crops up. No wonder all the 1/35 manufactures have so many different kits. Trumpeter are supposed to be releasing a 1/16 Tiger1 i should try and put a pre order in. Some of the books on the Tiger 1 are very expensive due to being out of print. Managed to find a Tank Art 1 for 35 € , Amazon were up at 100 usd.

Tools in 1/16, now every manufacturer seems to do them in different sizes and shapes.
Have 3 here for German tanks all different, and another odd sized one sitting on tank .
