I have just bought a Heng Long ZTZ 99 battle tank and will be looking to upgrade it in due course as I like tinkering, I live in Greater Manchester and have got into this hobby at a rather late age 65, the wife reckons i am going back to my childhood but hey ho!.

Echoing Mick, the ZTZ 99 is an unusual choice for a firsat tank. Still, it makes an interesting change from the usual Tiger 1- but if upgrading/enhancing the new plaything is on the cards, the ZTZ doesn't have the range of aftermarket parts available that the Tiger has. In fact, it has very few, I suspect.

The ZTZs have most of the major upgrade parts. You can put better gearboxes in it, fit a recoil system, metal wheels, metal tracks, metal sprockets, and better electronics. You would be correct that there aren't any detail upgrades for it.
