Re: Taigen Panzer III Lower RPM Higher Torque Motors Scale S
I will ask my dad if some kit for is possible, but probably it was one-off thing. This modified gearbox fits Panzer III, Sherman and KV-1 but not Tiger or Panther. Here is my Sherman with same modification. Later more strong motors was put to to achieve bigger max speed.

That's all good stuff, Kaczor, but the point here is to try and Achieve what we want with off-the-shelf products. When you start getting into custom-made modified gears it gets beyond the reach of the average RC tanker. The so-called 5 to 1 Steel gear boxes are easily available from places like dklm and RCtank.De. The brass ones are still around, but they're getting very, very hard to find. You'll mainly find them in places like local hobby shops that have had them on the shelves for years and haven't sold them. In fact, I picked up two sets in exactly that manner.

I was inspired
Have been thinking forever, if there was a way to reuse all the plasticgearboxes , with a lower gearing. They would be perfect for lighter tanks, that just need to be slowed down.
The picture shows from left , a standard HL, a HL with extreme low gearing, a HL like shown by Kazar.
Done with hand tools, but need a litle refinement. So consider them a proff of concept

The only problem is the gearbox you're showing on the far right. That's the high motor configuration, and it won't fit in a P3 and if use it in a P4 you lose your machine gun.

Re: Taigen Panzer III Lower RPM Higher Torque Motors Scale S
Thanks again guys, some great videos, I’ve ordered a set of Taigen 5.1 gearbox’s & may try out a pair of 5 pole high torque motors.
Re: Taigen Panzer III Lower RPM Higher Torque Motors Scale S
When they arrive I strongly advise that you break them in before installing them in the tank. I've already got a couple videos on breaking in gear boxes if you need to see them, just let me know. And you'll need some white lithium grease to live the gearboxes. Some light grade machine oil, like sewing machine oil is also good to put a drop on each bearing.

Thanks Gary for your helpful advice. The 5.1 gearbox’s & 385 high torque motors arrived today, I’ve watched one of your videos on breaking in the gearbox’s, very informative. The board is a Version 3 with the switch to turn the track recoil on & off.
Re: Taigen Panzer III Lower RPM Higher Torque Motors Scale S
Sounds like you're all set. I'd break in those gear boxes for at least the time it takes to deplete One battery for each direction and you should be good to go. I hope you post lots of videos and give us your comments on the new Motors and how you like them. I still haven't tried the 385 high torque Motors so I'm interested in your opinion on them.

Re: Taigen Panzer III Lower RPM Higher Torque Motors Scale S
I’ve just finishing a complete rebuild & repaint on my two Tamiya 1/16 full option Shermans, one I’ve had for quite a few years that I bought new (dark olive drab) & the other (light olive drab) purchased some time ago as a none runner, now making a start on the Taigen Panzer III.
