Re: We have Lost one of our Own...
It is difficult to know what to say.
Alpha was a true original,
He possessed an extraordinarily broad knowledge of so many different subjects,As well as being a brilliant modeller,
A gentleman (Always assuming a Marine could be or would want to be called one)
He brought so much to my interest in the hobby as well as introducing me to Girls and Panzer and Heiku.
He once called me his friend and that was enough.
He owes nothing to any of us but we owe him so much,
I missed him when he left the Forum but always there was the hope he would return,The hope has gone but there are a lot of happy if slightly insane memories left behind,
Thank You General,
R I P.
Shaun.

Damn that’s just not fair. After all he’d been through, and all he had given up for others.
Safe to say, where he is now, no one can ban him
Kia Kaha Mr Alpha, be with the one you love

Good Morning Gentlemen,
With thoughtful words and kind remembrances from Friends to mark his Passing, a Man can be said to have had his Path in Life well defined and Traveled with Freedom to simply 'Be'. Sleep Better, my Friend. The Light is always on.

With his reputation, l was looking forward to 'meeting' The General but it is now not to be. I suspect he'll be long remembered though. RIP.

Depressing news, indeed. I was in touch with him for a while by email, but gradually lost touch. I regret not trying harder now, to keep that portal open.
He was certainly unique. Luckily, the Archive here is peppered with his animated Gifs, quips, eccentricity, knowledge, pearls, and (sometimes) frenetic enthusiam.

Sad news indeed, I did not know Alpha as well as many of you guys but when I first joined the forum he took the time to reply to some of my posts as he did with many others on here as he was a wealth of knowledge. My condolences go out to his family and friends,
Lee.

Re: We have Lost one of our Own...
Good Morning,
Thank you, Gentlemen, for coming to remember our common Friend. I am glad that I kept up a running commo with him over the years. I will always regret not not having the time nor wherewithal to go and visit but will go and say goodbye one day out there on the Island that he maintained that strange love\scorn affair with. I will hoist a glass to the General and say goodbye in person for all of us. I sincerely hope that his remaining family makes sure that his Tanks find good homes and are admired and ran as the works of art that they are.
thank you again,
Painless
