B1 bis
B1 bis
I hope I'm not boring anyone here with frequent topics
I want to share the process of creating another model - B1 bis.
In the beginning, I will post the work that has already been done. I will spread it by analogy with the Object.

The project started around February.
The car is interesting for its relatively small size for a heavy tank and a kind of chassis. The original had an interesting electric turning system, which allowed you to accurately point the course gun.
The model will have:
- printed case with set rivets and bolts;
- simplified suspension system;
- spring tensioner of the track on the sloth;
- 5-speed transmission with a single engine forward/backward and a separate motor for turns (similar to the principle of working with Tamiya or DKLM).
Probably the most interesting is the transmission. The design of the tank itself stood for a long time, although two samples of the body were printed in mid-summer, precisely because of the transmission.
A 5-speed gearbox should ideally also be automatic, but it may not be.
To be continued...

The body has been printed for a long time, the chassis is also almost completely.
I spent a long time working on the gearbox. There were created 5 projects that did not fit the characteristics yet.
The tower is still in operation, it will be similar to that of Ilgar on Somua, only a lump. the turret is rounded.
Bulletproof bolts I hope will be printed on photopolymers by Vyacheslav Loginov

After a long break, work resumed.
The checkpoint is working as planned. However, for comfortable control, you need to configure the Board, since the control is like a car (instead of the rotation servos, a reverse speed controller is put). We still need to develop a speed control Board. This is left for later - the Board will run in parallel on the truck.
The suspension is a bit stiff. With a full load as it will roll - I will think how to improve.
A weapon without recoil. The place is actually there, but I don't see the point in such a small trunk.
The most recent step will be the installation of bolts... about a thousand of them... I hope you have enough patience.

Re: B1 bis
Then I will post up-to-date information on creating the model.
P. S. bullet-proof rivets and bolts are all installed already. I work inside the model. I also forgot about some elements outside.

The works are moving. There is not enough time catastrophically((
Arranged the internal nodes. Turning the model on/off, volume, and charging Jack will be located behind the side hatch.
I will show you the gearbox separately. Dimensions in mm-length*width*height 111*84*52

Re: B1 bis
Very cool build. I see you’re using the very best tank control board for excellent sound and motor control.
Re: B1 bis
Yes, I use this Board as it is available. But most likely, its use in this kind of project is not justified, since the transmission is similar to the original one and when installing an intermediate control module, it will be able to switch gears mechanically with audio accompaniment.Jimster wrote:Very cool build. Ideally, the transmission should be automatic. I wrote an approximate control logic for the intermediate control module. We will try to organize automatism with our programmer friends.
As a result, even Clark will be quite realistic to move the entire tank.
