Asiatam Gearboxes
Hello. Maybe they'll be useful to someone. Price: 50 euros - free shipping - new ones cost 105 euros
Angular gears from Asiatama for sale. Very cool, the tank is really slow on them (the planetary gear ratio is 30: 1),
BUT THESE ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR HEAVY TANKS
So they will be perfect for basic, full plastic Heng Long:
Tiger 1
Sturmtiger
Panther [not Panther G]
Panzer III
Panzer IV
StuG III
T34-85
T-90
and how someone builds a tank, e.g. from Takom or other company, and converts to RC
Dimensions together with the motor of one gear is 4.5x8cm
I add more powerful 9V engines for free
You can also have fun and change the engines for even more powerful
The price is less than half new, and they have traveled maybe 10 meters
Here's my problem with them:

Re: Asiatam Gearboxes
I hate them. I spent 5 hours to mount them properly, I spent money on additional engines and I'm sick of them. I hope you do something wise with them. Just don't write to me later that the torro tank doesn't want to ride on them; P You are from England?

LOL, fair enough. No, I won't complain, I only want to have a close look at them and experiment with that style of gearbox.
Yes, I'm in England

Re: Asiatam Gearboxes
I wouldn't pay 100 + euros for them, especially with the weak motors.Met5 wrote:Son of a gunner please let us know how you feel with these Gear boxes, I am in the process of purchasing them. thanks
Is there not an alternative on the market?
I should add, It's not the expense of paying out the money, I'm about to purchase two sets of Tamiya gearboxes that are more money a pair. It's just that these Asiatam gearboxes really aren't worth the money they cost.
I purchased these as I'm curious about them, not out of necessity.
Edit for a note; when I joined this forum, I was adamant that standard Heng Long gearboxes would do, and I wasn't going to pay out large sums of money for gearboxes, nor would I spend more money than a whole tank on after market boards. . . . Hmmm, that didn't last long
